Looking for a fun and inspiring way to support young local entrepreneurs? The Tacoma Children’s Business Fair is the perfect opportunity to do just that! On February 8th, kids from all over King County and Pierce County will come to the Waterfront Market at Ruston and launch their business ventures for a day. Over 80 young people, across 56 unique businesses, will be offering a variety of 3D printed toys, jewelry, art, nonprofit ideas, board games they created from scratch, snacks, and much more! It’s the perfect chance to shop small while encouraging the next generation of business leaders.
I often tell people this will be the most affordable market you've ever shopped at as you can find a TON for just a few dollars or less! I encourage shoppers to bring small bills as many of our youngest entrepreneurs will use this opportunity to practice counting! It's an awesome day that is completely youth-led where the kids and teens get to practice doing everything themselves from presenting the product, practicing communication, and making the sales!
The kids also get a chance to win CASH prizes in business categories like "Highest Business Potential", "Most Unique Presentation", and "Most Creative Business Idea". Local business owners are the judges who score the young entrepreneurs.
Mark your calendars for February 8th at the Waterfront Market at Ruston, 5101 Yacht Club Rd., from 12-3pm for the Tacoma Children's Business Fair! Can’t wait to see you there!
