HOT! So I stopped by Nisqually Markets in Lakewood and got some gas. Whoa! That fuel price was awesome! It was around 30 cents cheaper than anywhere else that I get gas. My head starts to work the numbers, "30 cents x 15 gallons x filling up twice a week x 4 weeks x 12 months" and I realized, "dang, that is a car payment or two!"
I went inside to grab a coca cola and found they had some great sandwiches and everything had a great price. Then I noticed a little screen at the counter and I asked, "So what does this do?" They said, "Put your email or cell phone number (must be valid) in there and you automatically earn a free coffee or fountain drink. Then with subsequent visits you get $5 off." I think it was 7 or 8 visits you get the $5 and I just added that tally up into the savings on gas. Now we are talking about saving some money here!
So, of course I signed up. I paid and turned to my right and what did I see? House of Donuts has a stand in there with their delicious donuts. Seriously! I just realized that I can coincide my weekly donut run with my gas purchases and I bet that would save me even more!
I think the teller saw my gaze on the donuts and he said, "One last thing, soon we will be giving rewards cards for fuel and you will save even more." I swear the guy was reading my mind.
So where are we stopping from now on? Nisqually Markets in Lakewood!
After a Google search when I got home they are owned by the Nisqually Tribe who gave out over a million bucks (SEE STORY) to the local community.
You can see all of their markets at www.NisquallyMarkets.com, visit their FACEBOOK page and they even just launched a FACEBOOK GROUP where you interact with the community, post stuff for sale, share your business and more. These guys are doing things right!
